3/20/78- Monday
Last week, I put in a roll of color and re-shot the High Tension Tower series. On Thursday (3/16) I also shot some shopping carts
out in a parking lot in color. I was pretty dormit the rest of the weekend. I think that I might print the Door book, Trauma this weekend
or next. I will do it in the fashion if 31 Realms, that is prints mounted on pages. I would like to revise the book down to 64 pages first.
3/24/78- Friday
Today the Sun came out so I shot a couple during lunch. I got a letter from Soho Gallery yesterday, it was
a newsletter and a membership card was enclosed, so apperantly they let me in without a portfolio review.
4/7/78
This is my first entry in twoweeks, I have alot of catching up to do. First, I bought another Nikon. It is an F2 with an F prism. The FT I believe
(Imagine an F2 body with a Nikon FT prism) That is why I call it the FT-2. The I bought a Beta Deck, but no camera yet. That is no VTR camera yet.
I shot the Infrared Black & White and the results were great. Then I got my negatives back from C.P.S. results were generally good,
then I got my Kodachrome rolls (Rolls 78-13 and 78-18), a bit underexposed, but the results were great. This brings me up to 78-20. I then went to a portfolio
review (4/4/78).I learned alot from it, about how to present a portfolio for a show. (One Direction) It was Mr. Detjarweusky (spelling?) from O.C.C., he seemed to like my work,
especially my brand new Infrared prints, shot 2 days before on Saturday 4/1/78. I have been running into static at work, and I am pretty sure that I am going to resign.
I havn't shot anything since 4/1 when I shot the Infrared, because I have re-gurgetating thoughts from the portfolio review. My first show must be good,
so I must start preparing for it. I think that I will get another body, keep: Pan X, Infrared, and Kodachrome rolls, one in each body. Mainly shoot infrared, with my good F2,
keep Kodachrome in my bad F2, and keep Pan X in the third body. In my next entry, I will discuss show possibilities and plans.
4/14/78
I got my FT-2 back from the repair shop today, then went to Freestyle and bought some more Infrared, put Infrared in my F2 and put Pan X in the FT-2.
That is rolls 78-21 & 22. I will have to reorganize my filing system to allow for two or more cameras. The rolls won't be sequencial in the relation of using two cameras
if I were to take two weeks to shoot 78-23 and shoot 78-22 with the other camera in one day, then load 78-24 and shoot that same day. The shots on 78-24 would have been shot before
those on 78-23.
4/27/78
Today I went out and shot Photos with Ron Desimone. I shot R.R. Tracks,Telephone Pole Shadow, and the Parking Lot at Beach and La Habra.
5/14/78
Since the 4/27 entry, I have developed and proof printed those rolls. I liked the results of the Parking Lot series. I have decided to stop
processing starting tommorrow on all of the shots that I take starting tommorrow. I will process all of the unprocessed rolls that I have now.
I have been in an endless cycle for the past year: Taking, Processing, Printing, Taking, etc. I have been spending all of my darkroom time
processing and proof printing my new work, but instead I will be spending my Darkroom time on Final Prints. I will make prints for the group show,
One Man Show (Re-edited version of 31 Realms), a couple of 10 to 12 print series, and The Parking Lot Series. I will let the new body (FT-2) solo
for two rolls and will process If they (The Negs) look good, I will be pretty sure that I can count on it. I am still using this camera body
after all of these years. This body is still my most used camera. I guess that they did a good job on that repair 24 years ago
I appeared to lost interest in maintaining this journal. The remainder on the entries are short in length and they are separated by long time periods.
6/16/78
I have 5 prints ready for the group show, they need to be mounted. One ready for the auction and a couple of Postcards ready for the Post Card show.
I am presently shooting Infrared. I will be printing 31 Realms II next week.
7/22/78
I bought a 20mm lens a couple of weeks ago. I also want an FM with motor drive, but I will wait until
Mom & Dad go to Abu Dabbi (Free Port). The auction is tommorrow. (Soho auction where I had donated a print) I have had a few botched rolls
of Infrared recently. I am still experimenting with exposure/developer combinations for best results. I will be moving back to Huntington Beach next week.
9/12/78
I finished the matts yesterday and made a last minute change of 78-28-09 for 78-20-07. I will take them to Soho
later this week. The show is 10/78 through 11/78. I am taking Photo classes this semester.
11/8/78
I submitted work for the "Directions in L.A." show today. I got the slides back from the summer trip, they look good. I have
been using a plastic camera for a class, photo making has been slow for the past two months. Photos up at Soho now. May print a Photobook this weekend.
Last month, I made a short photo book using the High Tension negatives.

11/22/87
I am now planning to complete the book from the Door series as my final project for the book class. I plan to print the book in three smaller volumes, editing parts out. Link to 'The Door'
Leaving the possibility for a fourth volume in the future. The three volume series will be in a kit also containing the Door, 10 Photos, and a biography
of the series. Prints from my most recent roll look good. I am still waiting on word from the L.A. Directions show submission. (All entries were rejected, I deposited the prints into a dumpster)
This concludes this document. I kept a detailed journal for the year of 2001. My next major project will be to add this document to the website.
